The ink for the Right of Center merger is barely wet but the dissolution of the Alberta Progressive Conservatives, who were in power for nearly 44 years, under the reigns of seven different premiers including political powerhouses such as Peter Lougheed and Ralph Klein has been rekindled with a strong spark through the federal PC Party of Canada under the leadership of past MPJoe Hueglin. The original Progressive Conservative Party provincial roots will be sustained by a much stronger and more sincere version that will truly put Albertans first through the PC Provincial Conservatives of Alberta (Progressive Canadian Provincial Conservatives). This party was created in concert with the Federal PC Party and grass roots Progressive Conservatives in Alberta. It only makes sense to learn from the experience and support of the Federal Progressive Conservative party in unison with a working provincial entity. According to Joe Hueglin, the symbolic colour for the PCPC provincial party is HTML/CSS purple (hex color code #800080(also known as patriarch/purple color). “As we are a Centralist party, Patriarch Purple is exactly halfway between red and blue and its value is also halfway between white and black. We draw ideas and policies from both the left and right political ideology and the path followed by progressive conservatives is to consider all realistic options and support implementation of that which best serves the interests of all people involved. A Progressive-Conservative is a person seeking to balance fiscal and social responsibility.”
We have seen so many good changes from the present NDP government that compliment our province to provide much needed government services like education and health care to name a few and we are not afraid to adopt that fine balance between fiscal and social responsibility. Unlike the Unite the Right Clan who wish to reduce and do away with government services the true roots of the Progressive Conservative Party will retain government services where needed and work directly with business as full time partners with a vested interest in building a new more sustainable Alberta. We will never move completely right of the center politically.
The merging of the Progressive Conservative and Wildrose parties marks the creation of a United Conservative Party, with a new leadership race representing only the extreme right of a conservative ideology. I am sure that Albertans don’t want to find out what a new extreme right focus among conservatives in Alberta is all about by cutting government services to a fault and moving back in time to deny climate change by throwing the baby out with the bath water by removing the carbon tax with no thoughts whatsoever about the health and well being of Alberta’s children and their children. Instead the new Progressive Conservative party (PCPC) will help Alberta businesses to develop alternative energy sectors to our economy and lead the way through innovation. Not only leading the way through innovation but paying down the debt by sharing in the growth of new alternative energy business development. We are embracing the true spirit of the Peter Lougheed Heritage Trust Fund and instead of this becoming a slush fund for each succeeding political parties the Carbon tax related funds will go directly back into the economy and create jobs and build a leading alternative energy industry. We will become the experts in Canada in Solar Energy and in particular HHO energy production.
Although we certainly don’t agree full heartedly with Alberta Deputy Premier Sarah Hoffman that the emerging party is a group of entitled extremists we do agree that by uniting the right that this new party has totally excluded a strong new center that will continue to grow as Albertans realize how more inclusive the original PC Party policies are to all Albertans. No big cuts and extreme legislation is needed unless truly its the will of the people.
The United Conservative Party will immediately threaten a climate change plan that introduced a carbon tax in our oil-rich province, which is home to the world's third largest reserves of crude oil after Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. Scientific evidence is all around us and the premise of there not being climate change on our planet is not only false but foolish.
